Those of use who occasionally visit the Daily Mail normally do so to see what rehab Lindsay Lohan's in, what height of shoes Suri Cruise is wearing or how much fake tan Helen Flanagan can spread over her overexposed flesh.
So I was pleasantly surprised to happen upon this very useful article on the situation in Syria and the Near and Middle East in general.
I can't guarantee the accuracy but seems like a better introduction than anything else I've read.
